Saving My Life

Anything I post on here about PCOS or any other condition, is general information or information I've accumulated in my experience having PCOS or other conditions. I'm not a doctor, so nothing I say should EVER take place of a real diagnosis from your doctor. My eating plan described on this blog is one I've made for myself and I'm constantly changing it according to my body's needs.

Sick and a Question for You ☺

I'm sick...with a bad cold...on top of all the other junk that's wrong with me. I got a test back from the doc. She said my inflammation test came back positive. I'm on a powerful antibiotic b/c she said my sinuses are swollen. The thing is I'm almost done with the antibiotic and I'm still sick with most of the same problems. This is my second round of anitbiotics in the past 3 or 4 weeks. The chiropractor has helped some fortunately, but the overall problem is still there...still presenting itself possibly as many things. So, still narrowing down sicknesses, hoping to get to the bottom of what's really wrong with me...hoping it's not a weird tumor or cyst or something...b/c that would suck. And it would kinda be the cherry on top considering all the other fun stuff I've been through recently. lol. Anyway, I had a super great 4th of July. I hope you guys did too. I'm thinking about making a Facebook page for my blog just so I can do vlogs and show fun videos of other things me and mine do to pass the time. Would any of you join it if I did this? I'm not out to get tons more's just not my style, but I'd love to connect more with the ones I've already got. So, tell me what you think and I'll make my decision from there. ☺
Oh, and btw my post on what happened b/t David and I is in the works...actually it's turning into a mini book, but alas, it will be here soon. Stay tuned....

  1. hey chica, feel better...I would friend your facebook.
    Great idea.

  2. I would LOVE to see videos with you. I am starting to do them for my blog as I get ready for the insane bikini shot of me that will finally expose my face -- and everything else to the bloggers. After that, I will be doing videos. It has been a goal for me that makes the whole thing more exciting. I can't wait to talk to folks face to face--kind of, on video. I would love to hear your voice and see your smile. Have you ever tried a Neti pot? I take a tiny teapot with warm saltwater and lean my head sideways over the sink and pour the water into the top nostril and breathe out of my mouth. Then, I do the other side. It is like I have no allergies anymore and no more sinus infections. It's a thought. It really cleans them out nicely. Poor lamb. I hope something beats that infection--it sucks, I know!

  3. people love the facebook pages.

for me it would be too much --- too many things to juggle---so I just slap the videos on my blog :)

  4. Hi Miz, I wish I would be so nice. All I have is my little cell phone and for some reason the sound isn't compatible with blogger, so all I hear when I upload videos on here is metal clinking sounds. :( Yeah, I can understand the "too many things to juggle".

  5. You can always post your videos on youtube for people who can't facebook so that no one gets left out (just an idea). Then you can embed the youtube footage into your post here.

As far as what you said about a tumor or a cyst... You don't know how many times I have wished that my migraines were a result of a tumor or something "operable." I've had MRIs and CTs to look for causes and nada. I heard about a woman who had migraines because of a hole in her heart and had my doctor have my heart scanned looking for said hole. I WANTED A HOLE IN MY HEART because that was "fixable" with an operation. That lady with the hole in her heart had an operation and her migraines were gone. My heart was fine. No hole. I have pretty much since January of 2003 had a constant migraine. It abates occasionally. But, I can't say that I have really been migraine free. I have just had "good days." That means that I have had days where the migraine has been so low on my pain scale that it barely registers. My tolerance has increased substantially over the years. I guess what I am saying is this: a tumor is not necessarily a bad thing if it is operable. It all depends on where it is. Doctors scrambling around for years, unable to diagnose you; that, my friend, is worse.

  6. Heh, that's so weird...everyone's comments except Miz's took forever to pop up. So strange! Her's was the only one I saw earlier today. hmmm...blogger acting funny. Yeah Robin, I've tried to do youtube too and it does the same thing blogger does. :( I've tried every route I can think of and all of them except facebook don't work. It'll probably be good once I get a new microphone for my computer. Then perhaps I can make one with a webcam. That would be good. Sometimes sitting at the computer makes my pain worse and I think it would be so nice to just do a video sometime and just put it onto blogger or wherever. hmm...gonna have to think some more b/c I don't want anyone to miss out...not that my videos are going to be Spielburg material or anything. lol. ;)

  7. Thanks Chris...I appreciate the well wishes. :)

Autumnforest: Yes, I've done the netti pot many times now but the water is getting stuck in my sinuses and choking me. It used to pour right on through but there's something definitely wrong in there b/c things are now flowing the way they should. Thanks for the suggestion though. (sigh) How wonderful it'd be if I could use the netti pot.

  8. oops Autumn--I meant things are NOT flowing the way they should when I do the netti pot.

  9. Be certain that your head is slightly tilted downwards and if you're not getting a return, you may have an actual blockage which is something the ENT doc should know about. I have an opening between one sinus and the tear duct and when I sneeze, air comes out of the corner of my eye and when I do the neti pot, water comes out of it. hahaha. I'm such a freak! Good luck, sweetie. Please take care of yourself--you are important to so many folks who truly care about the quality of your life.
