Saving My Life

Anything I post on here about PCOS or any other condition, is general information or information I've accumulated in my experience having PCOS or other conditions. I'm not a doctor, so nothing I say should EVER take place of a real diagnosis from your doctor. My eating plan described on this blog is one I've made for myself and I'm constantly changing it according to my body's needs.

What the????

Ok, so that was pretty cool. I woke up this morning to like...well...more comments than I've ever had and more followers. I just scratched my head and said, "What the heck?"  I kinda got stage fright. lol Then I started reading the comments and it made me smile. Gosh, there is so much wisdom in the blog world. I mean that to every one of you who left comments. I made it over to some of your blogs and I always love it when I find great new blogs. I plan on replying to all of them...hopefully tonight. I may take my daughter to see the new Shrek movie, so it depends on what time I get home. I have lots more to say and to elaborate on b/c there's things I realize now that I left out simply b/c I forget you guys only see what I read and do not know the whole dynamic of my situation. It would probably help too if you know the past 2 weeks have been literal hell for me b/c it's beginning to look like my husband has a genetic disease that's terminal....one that I've been praying he wouldn't have. I blogged heavily about all this just a few posts back. So, a part of that is the reason we've had a hard time lately too. It's that and me changing. I'll tell more later, but I just wanted to at least say thanks to all of you who took the time to come over and read. It won't always be interesting and you should know I'm a very "raw" writer...I do not like to sugarcoat. Some people like it, some people get freaked out. I y'am what I y'am---Popeye the Sailor Man. ☺☺☺

  2. I found your blog via Chris's blog. She posted a link to your blog on hers. I am on vacation so my reading/commenting time is limited. Anyway, your blog was a lot to process and I didn't feel like I could leave a comment that was worthy of what you had written. You have a lot on your plate. Sending lots of positive energy your way ~ for you and your husband. I know that you want his health to be good and I hear you that you need to make changes in your own life. All change is hard. One of the ladies that I follow said this about her problems (which are different than yours) that she got tired of fighting them because they weren't going anywhere, so she decided to push more love towards them. I know that stopped me in my tracks. It made me look at my own problems differently. Maybe you can look at your differently, too.

  5. Kim - you carry on being 'raw'. That's the way I like my tales. Not for me the sugary world of Pollyanna. I prefer straight-talking as it's much more hard-hitting (for me) even though I am an optimist on the whole. I try to tell it like it is too. Like you, if you browse the weight-loss blogs you find some fantastic writing and lots of sound encouragement. I came via another blog..with a link to yours.

I am really sorry to hear you've had bad news about your husband's condition. Life can throw us some nasty punches sometimes. When do we roll with them and when do we fight back?

Keep on keeping on. Robin's advice (above) is good. I think we do have to keep looking at our problems and sometimes taking a different approach to them or even a different view of them. It helps us put things in perspective.

Sending you love and encouragement via the ether...x

  6. I'm not surprised that you have such a great following... you write well, your transparency really resonates to others, you say what we are thinking or are afraid to say out loud... keep writing! I'm SO glad you are blogging!!
