Saving My Life

Anything I post on here about PCOS or any other condition, is general information or information I've accumulated in my experience having PCOS or other conditions. I'm not a doctor, so nothing I say should EVER take place of a real diagnosis from your doctor. My eating plan described on this blog is one I've made for myself and I'm constantly changing it according to my body's needs.

March 1st & 2nd, 2010 Food Log

March 1st

Breakfast: 1c. Kashi cereal, a few walnuts, 1c. almond milk (I'm getting to where I really like this almond stuff...tastes much better than soy milk and rice milk to me)

Lunch: Leftover zucchini and squash, 1/2c. brown rice, leftover salad, 2tbsp. Newman's Own Ranch dressing

Dinner: Breakfast supper- 2 small chunks of beef sausage, 3 eggs, sprinkle of cheese, salsa, whole wheat english muffin w/pat of butter and 2 tsp. strawberry fruit spread, 1/2c. OJ, 1c. milk

March 2nd

Breakfast: 1/2c. Bear Naked Granola (low sugar, lowfat vanilla almond crunch), 1/2c. milk

Lunch: Breakfast scramble- Sweet apple/maple chicken sausage (very few ingredients listed, found them at Ingles), eggs, diced potatoes, cheese, 1 whole red bell pepper, 1 whole yellow bell pepper ( I made this for lunch so I'd have my carby meal early in the day so I'd have the opportunity to burn off some of it)

Dinner: Big Salad (romaine and arugula, red bell pepper, 1 whole granny smith apple, baby carrots, cranberries, a few cashews, 1/4c. cheddar, 3tbsp. dressing)

I think I've got the "no snacking at night" thing almost licked. I NEVER thought I'd do this. I've eaten at night for so many years...so yay!

  2. How did you kick the night snacking habit? It has been so bad for me since I´ve been eating healthy, and I´ve never had this problem before! Help! :)

  3. It isn't too bad keeping track of all of those things. Mostly the carbs/sugars go hand in hand. Eating low carbs but high sugars defeats the purpose. Sodium I threw in about a week or two after starting because I read someones blog about it and thought to myself.. hmmmm.... wonder how much I eat. It was SCARY! Some stuff you think is healthy but so high in sodium. It adds up quick.

Just as you look on label for calories, look at the order numbers. Soon I'm going to throw in more :)
