Saving My Life

Anything I post on here about PCOS or any other condition, is general information or information I've accumulated in my experience having PCOS or other conditions. I'm not a doctor, so nothing I say should EVER take place of a real diagnosis from your doctor. My eating plan described on this blog is one I've made for myself and I'm constantly changing it according to my body's needs.

Food Log Feb.24th and I have questions and ideas....need feedback. :)

I think I did pretty good yesterday considering I need to grocery shop. I'm still taking in more carbs than I'd like...and the last thing I want to do is lose weight eating high carb low protein. I do not want to lose muscle weight. So, my question to you all is what do you think I could cut back on? Also, I am not a huge meat eater. When I eat my turkey sandwiches, I kinda cringe, but I eat it so I have more protein. I also eat a good bit of nuts, but they are pretty high in fat and yes I know it's good fat, but I still feel like it would take a lot of nuts to meet my protein requirements and I still have to worry about the calories. I'm not crazy about beans either. Once in a while I'll crave a burrito with black beans, but it's far and few between. I'd eat more soy, but with the exception of edameme, soy is usually very processed. Here lately processed soybean has been in the press a lot...being linked with thyroid issues and having some not so great hormonal components when processed....so I try not to eat processed soy a lot. So, what are some other good protein sources I could be choosing? Any suggestions?? B/c I really need help with this. lol.
Also, how would you all feel about a challenge/giveaway? I've been kinda playing around with the idea this past week, but still not sure. One thing I do not want to do is attract a bunch of people who were not on my follow list prior to a giveaway (I'm just funny like that I guess), but at the same time, I think a challenge is good for everyone. I kinda like the idea of the giveaway prize going to you guys who have been encouraging me, helping me, and cheering me on, but the idea of a big group effort in a challenge also appeals to me as well. Here's my idea. I have approximately 2 weeks before my second month of losing weight is over. My goal is to lose 10lbs. a month at this point. I'm only 4lbs. away from my goal for the month. So, I was thinking that maybe all of us could make a 2 week goal to do something that we've been really trying to change. It could be drinking X amount of water per day (keeping a record of it), exercising X times a week (also keeping record of it), losing 4lbs. (taking a before and after pic of the scale), ya know, so we can have a fun incentive to make it through whatever has been really challenging to us lately and we'll have a record of it to see how well we did after two weeks. Of course, I would have an incentive planned for myself if I make my goal. Then whoever follows the challenge and succeeds gets put in the drawing for the prize. Even if you don't win the surprise, you still win b/c you met your challenge. :) So, what do you guys think about this idea and would you extend the challenge beyond current followers? I would love to hear feedback from you guys. :)
