Saving My Life

Anything I post on here about PCOS or any other condition, is general information or information I've accumulated in my experience having PCOS or other conditions. I'm not a doctor, so nothing I say should EVER take place of a real diagnosis from your doctor. My eating plan described on this blog is one I've made for myself and I'm constantly changing it according to my body's needs.

New Weight Loss, Fun day, and Food Log for April 8th &9th!!

Ok, so I do realize I haven't posted for the past two days. I can explain. For one thing, this new medicine is making me soooo sleepy. That's the one thing I hate about it. However, it is doing what it's supposed to do, so I can't whine too much. Secondly, I've been loooong overdue for a mommy break. I hit the peak of needing a mommy break day before yesterday when my kids stopped up the toilet and it flooded my bathroom with poopy water! Ewwwwww! This was my "Good morning" from the kids and I spent it mopping a gazillion times and scrubbing my toilet a gazillion times. Then there's my 3 yr. old's temper tantrums here lately. He had come out of this phase for a while, but decided he likes this phase b/c it's not enough to torture Mommy with flooding the bathroom with poopy water.
Anyway, I told my David about the poopy water incident and he sent me shopping for new clothes, shoes, and I got my hair cut! Isn't it amazing how much more sexy a man becomes when he utters sweet little things like, "New clothes.....new clothes....I'll take care of the kids honey.....Go get your hair done...new shoes....new shoes." (sigh with a smile on my face)

I ♥ David.... >>----> ♥ xoxoxoxoxox
(Pic of David at the hospital holding his neice for the first time in February...he was really grungy from work, but he was so excited about meeting Kiley ☺)

I have not had a hair cut literally in a year and a half, so my hair went down almost to the small of my back.

It actually grew longer than this...this pic is a few months old now. I have really went a long time without doing something nice for myself and I'm beginning to realize this is a key to getting healthy. I was so happy to try on clothes...which is a first, but since I've lost some weight now it's already getting a little easier to shop. So, I got 3 new shirts and several inches cut off my mane and I have a few bangs now too. I'm thinking about dying my hair again as well, but it depends on how much I spend on shoes hubby says. lol It was a fun day and David really put effort into it. He didn't make me do anything for our kids this day. He made breakfast and lunch for the kids, put Enoch down for his nap and at bedtime, played with our kids, and then he still had energy enough to spend time w/ me later. ;) I think he was diggin my eyebrows being waxed finally the new haircut. lol I think I'm going to take a photo of myself soon so I can see if there's any difference b/t my before pic and after pic. I'm trying to work up the courage to post them on here, but I am super photo shy.
I am going grocery shopping today finally, so I'll have more fresh fruit and veggies in the house. So, you'll notice in these food logs that they are very carby. Somehow, I still lost weight. I've now lost 27.4lbs. Yay!

Here's what I ate:

8th:

Breakfast: 2 slices whole wheat toast, 1pat butter, 1tbsp. currant fruit spread, 3 slices turkey bacon, 1c. milk

Lunch: chargrilled chicken cool wrap from Chic fil A (whole grain wrap w/ chicken, veggies), 2tbsp. dressing, yogurt/berry parfait w/ all natural granola

Dinner: 2 slices whole wheat bread, 1 slice cheddar, 1c. organic tomato bisque soup, fruit smoothie (organic spinach, oj, organic pom juice, stevia, walnuts, frozen pineapple, frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries)

9th:

Breakfast: Arnold's whole wheat sandwich thin w/ 2 scrambled eggs & 1 slice cheddar, 1c. milk

Lunch: 2 Arnold's whole wheat sandwich thins,2oz. cheddar cheese, 1c. organic tomato bisque soup

Dinner: piece of Dutch Baby w/ drizzle agave nectar and lemon juice

Snack: small handful cashews

I haven't had nearly enough fruit or veggies in the past few days and that always makes a difference w/ how how much starchy stuff I crave, but like I said, this will improve once I get groceries today. Sorry I haven't replied to your comments yet, I will get to them by the end of the day. Thanks for coming by and I'll be stopping by your blogs soon as well. ☺ Had any scale victories or non scale victories lately? I'd love to hear.

  1. What a wonderful husband you have! It is hard to be at home with little ones and sometimes you just need a little break and some personal pampering. I am glad hubby helped you to have that kind of day.

A new haircut is a pick me up as well!

Be brave and share some photos!

Thanks for all of the nice comments you left on my blog. I love the support.

  2. Sounds like you totally deserved some TLC, it gets tough being a mum sometimes and the emotional drain can take its toll food wise. What a brilliant supportive husband!!! Sounds like you are going well on your weightloss, I am looking forward to following your process.

  4. @Tami- Thanks for all the great recipes Tami...you're supporting me! lol. Yes, a haircut felt sooo good and my hubby is so sweet to me. He's just been rackin' up the brownie points here lately. lol And like I said before, sorry I didn't get over to your blog for a little bit. I'm trying to do many things at once and blog and read blogs. Sometimes, I have to just blog so I can keep myself accountable, but believe me, when I do finally get to people's blogs I catch up with alll that I missed. lol :)

@Peta- I'm so glad to have you in my support circle...hehe. Grab a chair, get a cup of coffee, sit back and watch the show. lol (hope I don't put you to sleep...lol). I read all your blog entries to date and I'll be looking forward to following your process as well...and be a part of your support circle. :) We all need one aye? :)

@Chris- Thanks for the compliment Chris! Although several inches are gone now though...lol. Oh, and the ticker is not new but the graph is sorta new. You haven't seen me refer to my ticker as "the ticker thingy" before? LOL! Actually, since I shed my old bloggy skins, you may see it better. On the last set up, it didn't stand out well. Yeah, the first hundred pounds is my first big goal, then I'll set it for one hundred more for my next big goal, then again for whatever is left to lose. :) I totally agree with what you say about taking care of ourselves..it's so easy to let it slip though with having kids. Know what I mean?

  6. Thanks Shae :) I'm glad I got to shop as well. I actually had a lot of fun.
Ok, ok...I'll post before and after pics. lol I can't do it right away b/c I've got some other stuff I've got to do first, but I will post some within the next few days. I think I'm a little apprehensive about it too b/c I'm afraid a difference won't be seen by me b/c I tend to be critical of myself...but I know I've lost, and I can feel the changes so I need to keep that in mind when I'm looking at the pics.
    Thanks for the encouragement. :)
