Feb.9, 2010 Food Log

I did not log my food for the 8th. I was working on my last blog entry about hormones and eating behaviors. If I could remember what I ate day before yesterday, I'd log it. However, I'm not concerned....b/c if you look at my little ticker thing at the top, you'll see I had another loss.....12.4lbs. now....YAY! By the way, this loss comes right in the middle of my cycle, so this is a big deal for me considering I feel like I'm retaining more fluid than usual and I feel icky all together.Ok, so here's what I ate yesterday....

Breakfast: 1c. Kashi cereal w/ 1c.almond milk

Lunch: whole wheat pita w/ 2 thin slices all natural turkey, 2 slices cheddar cheese (I was kind of in a hurry to eat so i didn't get my fruit or vegetable in like I needed to)

Snack: green apple slices w/1tbsp. all natural peanut butter

Dinner: 1 mini meatloaf (I make my meatloaf w/whole wheat breadcrumbs and very lean beef), 1/2c. macaroni and cheese (I make mine with whole wheat macaroni, a milk and egg mixture, and cheddar cheese so by the time you add the other ingredients you really don't end up with a lot of cheese), 1c.Normandy vegetable mix (cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, zucchini, yellow squash)

Dinner was so filling that I didn't need a snack so I'm pretty proud of myself for that. I really should have increased my veggie and fruit intake for the day. I really need to work on this....I really need to work on prepping my veggies for the week. Otherwise, I still feel like overall I'm doing pretty well with my diet. Now I really need to work on exercise.

  1. You are doing great, I noticed you have pcos mentioned in your title, do you have trouble with hair growth too, along with the weightloss this is one of my daily battles

  2. Yes, I definitely have a problem with the hair. Although it's not noticeable to other people, my hair is starting to thin some. Also, I have hair where I shouldn't have hair (or I would if I didn't constantly shave or wax it..lol). Yeah, weight loss is a battle with PCOS. I'm finally on a new medication that doesn't make me sick so I've got my fingers crossed that this year will be my year for being successful. Check out my post before this one. I wrote a whole entry devoted to insulin resistance, cortisol, and all the connections that they have with hormones. You might find it interesting if you have the time to read. :) How long have you known about your PCOS and have you found any kind of eating plan that really works...any kind of routines that are useful with this syndrome? I'd love to hear. :)
