Saving My Life

Anything I post on here about PCOS or any other condition, is general information or information I've accumulated in my experience having PCOS or other conditions. I'm not a doctor, so nothing I say should EVER take place of a real diagnosis from your doctor. My eating plan described on this blog is one I've made for myself and I'm constantly changing it according to my body's needs.

Apr. 10th, 11th 2010 Food Log

I'm getting annoyed with myself here lately for waiting 2 days to log my food. I've just been so sleepy...but, then I forget some of what I ate and in between days I'm not thinking as hard about what I need to eat, so I've got to start posting everyday again...really. I'm still a little cranky and I'm growing more apprehensive about my true "quit" day as it approaches. I've already went through bad physical withdrawal b/c of the meds and it's made me cut back a LOT, but soon will come the day I will not smoke at all.
Meanwhile, along with the crankiness I'm craving carbs more. I think it's my body trying to compensate for the "feel good" it's lost through nicotine. Fortunately, I went grocery shopping so even if I'm craving carbs...everything I have in my house right now is healthy. So, even if I go through a phase of just maintaining the weight lost so far or just losing a little here and there, I can settle for this presently if eating a few extra carbs keeps me from going nutty. My doctor warned me this would be even harder to do while losing weight and I'm keeping that in my mind constantly, so I'm weighing almost everyday right now just to make sure I maintain while going through this big change in my life.
I've got lots of stuff I want to blog about in the next few days so stay tuned....

Now, for what I think I ate...lol.

10th:
Breakfast: Smoothie (frozen blueberries, frozen strawberries, frozen pineapple, raw walnuts, flaxseed meal, oj, pomegranite juice,) You would not believe how long it took me to remember having this...see? That's why I've gotta get back to blogging this stuff everyday.

Lunch: (had to eat out since I was out doing all my shopping) grilled chicken sandwich, fresh fruit w/ yogurt and a few walnuts

Dinner: 1/2 spinach/mushroom Kashi pizza and one slice of cheeseburger pizza (I shouldn't have eaten this...I guess it was good it was thin crust and not a big slice)

Snack: (My daughter and I had a girl's night here at home) 2c. natural popcorn, 4 squares dark chocolate

11th:

Breakfast: 1c. Organic Pumpkin Flax granola, 1 small banana, 1c. almond milk

Lunch: whole wheat wrap, 3 slices no hormones/bad stuff turkey, 1 slice cheddar, 1tbsp. Newman's Own Ranch dressing, romaine and arugula, 1c. red seedless grapes, 1/2c. potato chips (made w/ olive oil and dash of sea salt)

Dinner: (This meal was requested by David...I have to make at least a couple meals a week that he really likes....I don't love sloppy joes in the least, but I ate b/c I was too sleepy to make anything else for myself)
1 Arnold's whole wheat sandwich thin, 1/2 sloppy joe lean beef, 1/2c. baked french fries, 1/2c. homemade coleslaw (made w/ olive oil light mayo, vinegar, dash of sugar)

Snack: 2 squares 75% Ecudorean dark chocolate (I wasn't sure I'd like chocolate w/ this much cocoa b/c higher the percentage of cocoa...lesser the sugar. I was pleasantly surprised I liked it better than the 70%, but who am I kiddin....I'm a chocolate fan for life so of course I like every kind of chocolate...lol)

Drank a lot of green tea and peppermint tea....and still found myself a little hungry....urgh.

Snack: 1/2c. Organic Pumpkin Flax granola, w/ 1/2c. millk (I really really have got to watch this...I had gotten so good at not eating at night....I know it's b/c of withdrawal. Gonna have to find something to remedy these cravings at night fast.)
