Saving My Life

Anything I post on here about PCOS or any other condition, is general information or information I've accumulated in my experience having PCOS or other conditions. I'm not a doctor, so nothing I say should EVER take place of a real diagnosis from your doctor. My eating plan described on this blog is one I've made for myself and I'm constantly changing it according to my body's needs.

Yesterday's Food

So, I started taking the appetite suppressants that my doc prescribed yesterday and WOW! I had so much energy and I didn't feel ravenously hungry like I usually do. I didn't feel my blood sugar drop, I didn't get queasy, and I didn't crave carbs or sugar all day. I know these pills are for a short time and I'm a little scared of how things will be after I go off of them since they are short term, but I'm hoping at the very least my stomach will shrink some so maybe I won't be terribly hungry after going off them. Ok, so here's how I did yesterday. Oh, by the way, I had another small loss.....and it was the first time I've weighed in over a week I think. I lost .6. So, two pounds down total.

Breakfast: 1c. Kashi Oat Flakes w/ wild Blueberry Clusters, 1/2 banana, 1c. almond milk

Snack: a couple bites of trail mix (After a couple of bites I was full and gave the rest to my son)

Lunch: Arnold's multi-grain sandwich thins, 3 slices hormone and preservative free turkey, 1 slice cheddar cheese, 1c. green grapes, 1/2 c. baby carrots, 1tbsp. Newman's Own Ranch dressing (I packed this lunch for myself since I knew my friend would be feeding the kids pizza. I did not touch the pizza so that was a little victory for me)

Dinner: 1/2 whole wheat spaghetti noodles, 3/4 c. meat sauce, salad w/ 2 tbsp. Newman's Own Ranch

And that was what I ate all day....I didn't even feel like snacking at night. It was nice....although I do hope I ate enough calories b/c I do not want to set my body into starvation mode.

  2. Thanks Kimber. :) I'm tryin! lol. She prescribed me phentermine...yes,it's the second "phen" in Fen Phen, however, it was the one that was never recalled, b/c in short term use it is safe. If you use phentermine for a long time, it can cause heart issues. So, I'll use it for a short time to help jumpstart my health regimine and to help shrink my stomach down some. I felt like I needed something extra to help me although normally I try to stay away from prescription meds as much as I can...I am a little desperate. So far so good...no weird side effects. It's not expensive either. It's only 12 dollars at Wal-Mart for a month supply for me...and that is the actual cost b/c I have a $350 deductible on my insurance.
Inspire...ha! I'm so hoping my weight loss story won't be a Greek tragedy this time around. lol
